On Friday, May 19, 2011 Jeff presented Fulfilling Your Mission … One Relationship At A Time, an interactive workshop designed to provide non-profit organizations (and their staffs and boards) with the inspiration and vital relationship building skills that will help improve results and impact.  If you’re involved with a non-profit organization (in leadership, development, or as a Board member), then you know all too well the financial reality today for non-profits. In the words of Bob Dylan “the times they are a changin,” but for non-profits and mission driven organizations the changes are very real challenges. The recession has put significant financial stress on most non-profits and the funding community has fewer dollars to donate. Much like for-profit ventures, the current economic realities require that non-profits be better, different and more effective in terms of fundraising, friend-raising and community engagement.  Jeff has trained thousands of people how to build mutually beneficial relationships, and he's translated these critical relationship building skills over to non-profits. Fulfilling Your Mission … One Relationship At A Time was not about fundraising plans, letter campaigns, or the “art” of asking for money. All of these are important, but it’s the relationship building skills that are vital for your organization’s leadership, staff and Board members. Click here to watch Jeff's Cool Cleveland video about this workshop concept.  Here's what some of the attendees had to say:

"Jeff clearly articulated the importance of storytelling for engaging people to support our missions. He also demonstrated the importance of creating authentic relationships. These lessons apply to both profit and nonprofit organizations." David Saunders

"Jeff brings a deep and comprehensive understanding of sound business practices to the table, and this knowledge underpins his instruction.  More importantly, he understands how and why people form relationships, and this is ultimately the guts of his training.  He shows, in a clear and concise manner, how important it is to fundraisers to work first on relationship, and why it is that relationship is such an essential part of making a successful ask.  He demonstrates how to effectively build mutually beneficial relationships.  He stresses that successful relationships are two-way streets built on trust and shared vision.  Jeff’s non-profit programs are critical building blocks for any development officer, and I have been using the concepts that Jeff teaches to great effect in my new career as a development officer.” James Marra, Senior Director of Corporate & Major Gifts, Friends of Breakthrough Charter Schools

“Jeff’s seminar was excellent!  I think it’s hard to impact people on a motivational level, but Jeff was super honest and reminded us that we need to be honest with ourselves, which made it a success.  I have sat through many seminars, only to walk away feeling guilty about something, but Jeff pointed out that once you are aware and face your challenges, you now have the power.  I wish I could have had all my loved ones there!”  Casey Keller, The Willow Room

“I enjoyed your presentation – it spoke to things I think I’ve understood implicitly about communication and relationships, but helped to unpack those ideas a bit and pushed me to think more deliberately about the ways I connect with others.  I have to admit – I wasn’t sure I was on board at the beginning when you were talking about being Crazy, but at some point your enthusiasm just became infectious, and I was in. “  Hallie Rich, Brown Flynn

“Jeff wants you to quickly realize that the way he approaches his work and relationships are not 'normal' by conventional standards. As you listen to him share his message, you realize that the lack of normalcy comes from his willingness to be open about himself with the people he meets and to leave any posturing at the door. This simple approach embodies one of Jeff’s core messages – presenting the real you, warts and all, in your business and personal dealings is key to building meaningful relationships. Authenticity is a good thing, vulnerability can be a good thing. You still need to have something to offer and be enjoyable to work with – other principles that Jeff will champion, but people need to know you before they can trust you and want to help you.”  Matthew Danis, Shook Construction

“Thank you again for being a part off yesterday’s Bridge Builders session and speaking (the truth) to our group.  I really enjoyed your session and found the information to be incredibly thought provoking and, more importantly, provided actionable take-aways...THANK YOU!”  Jo Jo Graham,  Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio

He also challenges you to think outside the box in building relationships by embracing that which defines you and avoiding the temptation to try to fit into the typical mold of what you think others expect.  I would highly recommend attending one of his seminars." On September 9, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon Jeff presented Fulfilling Your Mission … One Relationship At A Time, an interactive workshop designed to provide non-profit organizations (and their staffs and boards) with the inspiration and vital relationship building skills that will help improve results and impact. Click here to watch Jeff's Cool Cleveland video about the workshop.
